The fields of electromagnetics and microwave circuits encompass the entire wireless industry. This includes all high-frequency circuits, circuit components, antennas, and wave propagation. The wireless industry includes cell phones, computer and appliance communications, electromagnetic compatibility, and interference. The wireless industry demand for engineers has grown much faster than the supply. Texas alone has more than two dozen companies in need of microwave engineers.
Student will complete 3 required courses totaling 9 credit hours and course 2 from the prescribed electives for an additional 6 credits total 15 credit hours for the certificate.
