Class cancelled/Operations suspended

Due to inclement weather affecting the Bryan-College Station area, Texas A&M University has cancelled all classes for Tuesday, Jan. 21. Additionally, all campus operations have been suspended. A decision about Wednesday, Jan. 22 will be made by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Michael -johnson -spring -2017M. Katherine Banks, vice chancellor and dean of engineering, has appointed Dr. Michael Johnson the Charlotte and Walter Buchanan Faculty Fellow in the Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution. The endowed faculty fellowship was effective Jan. 1.

Johnson is an associate professor in engineering technology and industrial distribution and the program coordinator for the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MMET) program in the department. Johnson joined the Texas A&M engineering faculty in August 2007. He received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his master’s degree and Ph.D. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Johnson’s research interests include: cost modeling and analysis of product development and manufacturing systems; computer-aided design methodology; product development project management; and engineering education.
