Andrew Hunt ’03, and Kelly Hunt ’06 embody the spirit of Texas A&M University through their dedication to education, faith and community. Their love for the university and each other inspired them to establish the Hunt Family Endowed Scholarship.
As a third-generation Aggie, Andrew’s connection to Texas A&M runs deep. From his early years, he was drawn to the university's renowned engineering program and rich traditions. At A&M, he balanced rigorous academic work with an on-campus job at the Vibration Control and Electromagnetics Laboratory and active participation in the Water Ski Club. This helped him develop the skills needed to juggle hard work, family, and community service in his career today.
For Kelly, who was raised in a family of Longhorns, her decision to attend Texas A&M was rooted in her values of family, faith, and tradition. As a student, Kelly’s journey took a turn when she switched her major from electrical engineering to ocean engineering, which proved to be a rewarding decision. She thrived in her studies and research, reinforcing her belief that following faithfully where God leads is the key to success.
While both Andrew and Kelly have built fulfilling careers, Andrew as the senior vice president at Project Control of Texas and Kelly as the headmaster at Founders Classical Academy of Schertz, they remain true to the values of Texas A&M. The couple shares a deep desire to give back to the university that shaped them, both professionally and personally.
“We have been so blessed by our time and association with Texas A&M,” Andrew said. “We wanted to pay it forward to future students looking for some support in their own journey at A&M. We also want to be an example to our own children in sharing and helping others.”
Their donation to the Texas A&M College of Engineering reflects their commitment to the next generation of Aggies.
“For an engineering student that was like us, who needed to work during school and also connect to fellow students through a club or other activity, sometimes your grades are not perfect,” Andrew said. “We want them to know that they still deserve support, and that their fellow Aggies are rooting for them.”

A Love Found on Water
The Hunts’ connection to Texas A&M is not just about their academic achievements; it’s also about the friendships, traditions, and lifelong commitment to service. Both were members of the Texas A&M Water Ski Team, where they met and fell in love. Andrew served as a club officer, honing leadership skills, while Kelly earned a spot at the national competition in Jump and Slalom two years in a row.
“The Water Ski Club was a great way to develop friendships and leadership skills, while also allowing us to have fun,” said Kelly.
Now, as parents to three children, Andrew and Kelly are passing on the Aggie spirit to the next generation. While their two daughters are attending other universities, their son has dreams of attending Texas A&M, which would make him the fourth generation of Aggies in the family.
The Hunts are committed to living out the core values of Texas A&M every day. “Love your neighbor” is a value that Andrew and Kelly embrace in all aspects of their lives, whether in their professional endeavors or personal interactions. They remain active in their community, serving at their church and volunteering with various area charities.
Through their generous donation, the Hunts hope to leave a lasting impact on future Aggies — just as the generosity of others impacted their own journeys.
“We hope to be an encouragement to others to help where they can,” said Kelly. “We want to help students who are passionate about their education, but who may need some support along the way.”
