Samantha Merton shares how Samsung impacted her life. | Video: Emily Oswald/Texas A&M Engineering

Eight years ago, Samantha Merton ’27 was homeless. Today, she’s an electrical engineering student at Texas A&M University thanks to the generosity of others.

Samsung Austin Semiconductor gave Merton and many students like her the opportunity to realize their dreams.

“If I could say something to my donor, I would simply say thank you for seeing me before the world did,” Merton said. “You didn't just support my education. You believed in someone who once stood on a street corner with nothing but a hope and a dream. You helped rewrite a story that could have ended in silence and struggle. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you for giving me the chance to become who I was always meant to be.”

Texas A&M Engineering donors like Samsung Austin Semiconductor give more than financial support to students; they make the impossible possible.

Endowments supporting the students in the college have an immeasurable impact on their education. If you are interested in supporting the College of Engineering and its departments or would like more information on how you can give, please contact one of our development officers.
