Each semester, the Texas A&M University Society of Petroleum Engineers (TAMU-SPE) Student Chapter hosts a Career Enhancement Event (CEE) to allow Aggies to establish connections with industry leaders.
The biannual event is organized by petroleum engineering students and unites hundreds of industry professionals for a full day of recruitment and career development. CEE committee members perform all logistical duties and raise funds for the event.
Organized by CEE Directors Jacob Tarter and Alexandra Garvin, the fall 2025 career fair in August connected nearly 450 students with more than 150 recruiters from 41 companies in the energy sector. The spring 2026 event will take place Jan. 29.
“Our goal each semester is to provide a seamless bridge between students and the energy industry,” said Garvin. “This event is completely student-run, and it’s rewarding to see how many connections and opportunities come from it.”
Top operating companies like BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Devon Energy, Diamondback Energy, EOG Resources Inc., and ExxonMobil attended, along with a broad spectrum of smaller operators, service providers, consultants and financial investment entities. Recruiters connected directly with students, discussing internships and full-time positions across all service sectors.
The event is one of the critical ways TAMU-SPE fulfills its mission to connect students with the energy industry and strengthen their professional networks. The continual success and growth each semester makes it the largest discipline-specific career fair at Texas A&M.
“The CEE is the Department of Petroleum Engineering's primary recruiting event,” said Tarter. “Our job as directors is to provide a way for our Aggie family to grow their network to change the world.”
