Texas A&M University’s College of Engineering is ranked No. 1 in Texas and No. 9 overall for its online graduate engineering program in the 2026 U.S. News & World Report.
The program also ranked No. 7 overall for Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs for Veterans, jumping up six spots from last year.
“The recognition of our online engineering programs is a testament to our faculty’s commitment to providing an accessible education at a level of excellence consistent with our in-person programs,” said Dr. Robert Bishop, vice chancellor and dean of Texas A&M Engineering. “An advanced degree can open many doors and opportunities for graduates. Our high-quality online engineering programs make those opportunities accessible to more students.”
Four of the college’s department online degrees were also ranked in the top 15 in the nation, all ranking No. 1 in Texas. The Master of Engineering in engineering management was tied for No. 15, and the Master of Engineering in mechanical engineering was tied for No. 6. The Master of Engineering in electrical engineering was ranked No. 8, and the Master of Engineering in industrial engineering was ranked No. 2.

U.S. News evaluates schools based on factors such as student engagement, faculty credentials, services and technologies. Rankings are based on metrics specific to online learning and only include degree-granting programs offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
