We invite your organization to consider sponsoring a capstone project. By collaborating with our talented seniors, you can advance initiatives aligned with your strategic objectives. To accommodate our partners, we offer contractual frameworks designed to address confidentiality, intellectual property and project deliverables. Capstone teams leverage the cutting-edge resources for prototype development and testing at the Fisher Engineering Design Center. Capstone projects are also featured at the annual Engineering Project Showcase.
Benefits to industry members participating in capstone projects include:
Good capstone projects align sponsor needs with capstone course academic requirements in the specific major. Join us for the annual Engineering Project Showcase to see hundreds of sponsored capstone examples in various engineering majors.
Each project is assigned to a team of four to six engineering seniors who invest significant time in the project. In most majors, the capstone projects are executed over a two-semester period.
For best outcomes, sponsors are expected to present the project at the start of the semester, provide regular feedback to the team, and participate in mid and end of semester presentations.
Yes. Sponsorship includes a fee that covers project expenses such as materials and supplies, software and team support. There is no overhead to sponsored capstone projects and funds go directly to departments to support the capstone project and program.
Submit a brief project idea using our Capstone Submission form. We will provide assistance in placing the project in its appropriate engineering major.
