Engineering Inc. is a group for students who want to develop their entrepreneurial mindsets by identifying and solving problems for customers. Engineering Inc. may be a good fit for you if:

  • You’re interested in entrepreneurship but don’t know where to start
  • You have an idea for a product or service and want to know what to do next
  • You’d like to enter startup pitch contests or apply for grants and need help
  • You’ve started to work on an idea through Aggies Invent, ENGR 461 or another program and want help to continue its development
  • You have recently started a business and are looking for mentoring

If you are interested in exploring Engineering Inc, please come by Zachry 415 on Wednesdays during the school year from 9-10:30 a.m. to enjoy light refreshments and meet fellow entrepreneurial minded students.

Why join Engineering Inc.?

Engineering Inc. is led by Chris Curran ’87, who spent 30 years helping companies use information technology to solve problems and the last five years starting several software-as-a-service (SaaS) businesses in an incubator he co-founded at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

We follow the lean startup approach and have a lightweight curriculum based on the book “Running Lean” by Ash Maurya and his incubator platform, LEANSTACK. We also discuss many other books, case studies and games to learn about entrepreneurship in businesses.

We meet weekly for 90 minutes as a group to share progress and discuss topics ranging from how to find a passion project to strategies for pitching your business idea.

The program runs at your speed — as fast or as slow as you'd like. In addition to weekly meetings, one-on-one chats for individuals or teams can be scheduled to help you achieve your next goal.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, or if you want to learn more, apply to our program and Curran will schedule a time to answer your questions and get you set up.
