Apply to Engineering at McAllen
Students interested in the Engineering at McAllen program should submit the traditional freshman application to Texas A&M University — College Station, available at the ApplyTexas website. It is recommended to indicate McAllen as your preferred location and to select one of the following majors: Interdisciplinary engineering or multidisciplinary engineering technology. This will ensure you are given full consideration for the Engineering at McAllen program.

Detailed instructions are as follows:
- Create account or login at the ApplyTexas website.
- Select Texas A&M University — College Station as target university .
- Select interdisciplinary engineering or multidisciplinary engineering technology as first-choice major option .
- In the "Custom Questions For This Institution" section (page 9), select McAllen as your preferred campus .
It's important to note that all admitted students follow a general engineering curriculum the first year to year and a half, whether beginning in College Station or McAllen. All students must utilize the Entry to a Major (ETAM) process to transition from general engineering into a degree-granting major. In this process, students have the ability to apply for majors offered fully in McAllen even if they began in College Station.
