Some international applicants are required to provide documentation of English proficiency, provided in the form of Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test scores.
English Language Testing Requirement:
Who it applies to: International applicants; however, applicants are exempt from this requirement if they have a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or are residents of the countries listed at the Office of Admissions website.
When to take it: Tests should be taken at least eight weeks prior to the appropriate application deadline to ensure a timely receipt and processing of results.
Why we need your scores: Copies of test scores are not considered official, but uploading them to your application helps the university/department in reviewing your application for admission sooner. We will use your highest test score from one test date.
- TOEFL official test scores must be sent directly from the testing center to EngineeringCAS (use code B887) to be considered official.
- IELTS official test scores must be submitted electronically by the IELTS test center. No paper Test Report Forms will be accepted. Please contact the test center where you took the IELTS test and request that your test scores be sent electronically using the IELTS system to: Texas A&M University (College Station and Galveston).
