Five-year accelerated Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering and Master of Public Health

The College of Engineering offers a combined degree option, which would allow a student to earn a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering while also earning a Master of Public Health in Occupational Safety and Health. Students who successfully complete this program can graduate with both degrees in just five years.

The 161-hour program includes 12 semester credit hours that apply to both the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering Degree and the Master of Public Health degree. Graduates will be educated in biomedical technology and public health aspects of occupational environments. The program uses an interdisciplinary approach to integrate relevant aspects of human health monitoring, ergonomics and workplace design, and public education and intervention for the purpose of creating healthier and safer working environments.

Students can choose from two undergraduate tracks:

  • Engineering for Health and Wellness in the Energy Industry: Combines studies in biomedical engineering and petroleum engineering with public health
  • Engineering for Health and Wellness in the Agriculture Industry: Combines studies in biomedical engineering and biological and agricultural engineering with public health.
