Nuclear Security Certificate

The Nuclear Security certificate is a 12-credit program that provides students with a solid understanding of policy and technical aspects behind nuclear security, safeguards, and nonproliferation.

Students must take four out of the six following courses to meet the requirements. Four of the courses offered are from the Department of Nuclear Engineering (NUEN). Two courses are from The Bush School of Government and Public Service (INTA).

• INTA 669/NUEN 669 - Nuclear Terrorism Threat Assessment and Analysis
• NUEN 451 - Nuclear Security System Design
• NUEN 605 - Radiation Detection and Nuclear Materials Measurement
• NUEN 650 - Nuclear Nonproliferation and Arms Control
• NUEN 651 - Nuclear Fuel Cycles and Nuclear Materials Safeguards
