The Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Tyler Junior College is an innovative co-enrollment program that provides a pathway to students interested in pursuing an engineering degree at Texas A&M University. Students admitted to the Engineering Academy at Tyler Junior College are Texas A&M engineering students co-enrolled at Texas A&M University in the College of Engineering and at Tyler Junior College.
Prequalification requirements:
You must satisfy one of the math readiness criteria to be qualified for the Engineering Academy:
- College Credit: Your current college transcripts show credit for college algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, or calculus I with a score of A, B or C, or you passed the CLEP Exam for MATH 1314 (offered at UT Tyler)
- High School Credit: Score of 3 or higher in calculus AP exam
- Standard Examination: SAT Math section score of 720+ or ACT math section score of 29+
