Overview
Our distance program offers options for students to pursue graduate-level coursework remotely. Students pursuing our program will gain a rigorous background with both breadth and depth in computer science or computer engineering.
We offer two graduate degrees that can be pursued as distance degrees: the online Master of Computer Science and the online Master of Engineering in computer engineering.
Our distance learning courses are as rigorous as those offered in person and are considered equivalent to our on-campus graduate courses. Distance students have access to full class materials and deal with the same assignments and examinations as on-campus students. Students enrolled in the Distance Education Degree Programs can only enroll in distance courses.
Admissions
Students are expected to be prepared to study graduate-level computer science classes. While we accept students from a range of educational backgrounds, students must hold a bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
We do not generally offer leveling (undergraduate) courses for distance students to learn background material, so students applying to the program from a different background should ensure they have appropriate prior knowledge and experience.
Applications should be submitted through EngineeringCAS. For admission-related questions, contact grad-admissions@cse.tamu.edu.
