The Communications and Networks research group focuses on advancing the theory, design, and implementation of modern communication systems and networks. Research areas include information and coding theory, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-native next-generation (NextG) communication networks and systems, wireless and optical networking, and edge intelligence for decision-making.
The group explores algorithms and systems design for topics such as intelligent configuration and control of networks, congestion control, spectrum sharing, and distributed multiple input multiple output (D-MIMO). Faculty and students work on cutting-edge topics such as 6G cellular, ultra-reliable low-latency communication, networked AI, satellite communications, and autonomous network optimization to address the challenges of future wireless and wired communication infrastructures.
