Accomplishments

  • Developed accelerator-based simultaneous triple beam (H, He, heavy ion) irradiation capability up to 1200C
  • Developed both OpenFOAM and MOOSE-based modeling tools for coupled shock dynamics and radiative heat transfer in partially ionized gases
  • Performed first-of-a-kind high-fidelity neutron transport simulations in IFE systems
  • Submitted a provisional U.S. patent on the IFE chamber design
  • Published a textbook on nuclear waste management
