Undergraduate Study Abroad
Early planning is key to a successful reciprocal exchange program (REEP) experience. Consult with your academic advisor the semester before you initiate the REEP process.

What is the process to request for approval?

  • Follow Study Abroad Office guidelines (forms, deadlines, etc.).
  • Provide the ISEN department with syllabi of both the host university's course and Texas A&M's and make a strong written case for the course to be considered equivalent.
  • If taking non-ISEN courses, the student must visit the respective departments that offer the courses and obtain signatures.

ISEN advisors will only approve ISEN courses.

What courses would be appropriate to take under REEP for ISEN?

  • Must meet prerequisites for courses both abroad and at Texas A&M.
  • ISEN technical electives will only be approved for students in junior and senior level ISEN courses.
  • ISEN required courses may not be taken as part of REEP.
  • Courses critical for an ISEN degree such as STAT 211 and CSCE 206/110/111/121 are not recommended to take abroad.

Sample semesters with courses highly recommended for a REEP experience:

Sophomore (Spring): MSEN 221, MSEN 222, MATH 304, MATH 251, Creative Arts

Junior: ECEN 215, MSEN 222, MATH 308, Technical Elective, Social Behavior Science

Senior: ISEN 442, ISEN 411, ISEN Technical Elective, Technical Elective
