Take the first step in your professional journey with an undergraduate degree in industrial and systems engineering at Texas A&M University. Build a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, develop hands-on problem-solving skills and prepare to make meaningful contributions in industry from day one. Our programs combine rigorous coursework with real-world application that will distinguish you in your field.

We offer two undergraduate degrees: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Data Engineering. Students can also pursue an accelerated path to a graduate degree through our Accelerated Bachelor of Science and Master of Public Health or Accelerated Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Finance programs, or add a Minor in Industrial Engineering to complement a degree in another field.

The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering requires 128 credit hours to complete and can be finished in four years of full-time study. Coursework builds from math, physics and chemistry fundamentals in the first year into core industrial engineering topics — optimization modeling, economic analysis, operations research, quality engineering, system simulation and production systems engineering — over the second and third years.

Undergraduate study in ISEN is rigorous yet adaptable to your interests. Eighteen hours of technical electives, twelve of which must be industrial engineering courses, allow you to shape part of your degree around your goals, in consultation with your advisor. All students complete a High Impact Experience as a graduation requirement, gaining practical exposure beyond the classroom. Choose the path that fits your interests and move forward with confidence.

Your degree culminates in ISEN 460, Capstone Senior Design, where you apply your training to real engineering problems for industry clients — putting four years of coursework to work before you graduate.

Discover the program that fits your ambitions and start building the foundation for a career that makes an impact in industrial and systems engineering.
