2019-2020 Mechanical Engineer department student ambassadors

The objective of the MEEN Ambassadors is to provide a peer-to-peer perspective to prospective students, freshmen, and current mechanical engineering students. The Ambassadors are able to offer the unique viewpoint of a current mechanical engineering student and have a wide range of experiences from which to draw information. The Ambassadors are available to answer questions regarding mechanical engineering as a profession, the J. Mike Walker '66 Department of Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, class and scheduling advice, study abroad, internships, co-ops, student organizations, transferring to the department, and the general engineering entry to a major process, among other things.

Ambassador Activities

  • Lead weekly prospective student presentations and lab tours; serve on student panels for prospective students and their parents; participate in recruiting events held by the department, college and university; meet individually with prospective students during walk-in hours
  • Host activities for freshman general engineers to promote the field of mechanical engineering; assist with department information sessions for freshman general engineers; give tours to and lead activities with visiting high school student groups
  • Work with department academic advisors on improving student services through special projects

MEEN Ambassadors are available Monday through Friday in MEOB 200 during the fall and spring semesters. Please email meen-ambassador@tamu.edu to speak with someone or schedule a meeting.
