The Master of Industrial Distribution (MID) Program is a full-service program for its students! Full service means that we take care of you from your initial inquiry until admission through graduation with everything you need to be successful.
You should come to the program with a curious mind, a willingness to collaborate with peers, and a desire to learn. Below is a list of many (but not every) aspects of the MID Program you may not get in other online programs. We believe these aspects of our program provide an advantage to our MID students.
-
Residency Week is held every August. In your first year, you meet your classmates and group members. At Residency Week, the MID program will provide you with any materials needed to learn on the go, such as iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and Airpods. Second-year students rekindle and catch up with those classmates with whom you've built a life-long bond within the last year. Both first and second-year cohorts are provided Res Week lodging, most meals, academic training, and multiple opportunities for the Aggie Experience!
-
All students in the MID Program receive an iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard and Airpods. Students also receive the necessary apps, e-books, and case studies to complete every course successfully for each of the four semesters enrolled.
-
Gone are the days where you wonder if the classes you’re taking will count towards your degree or setting multiple alarms to register so you do not miss out on a class! The MID Program is a set curriculum of courses, and we provide you reminders of tasks that prepare for registration because we register you every semester for your classes. You are responsible for tuition and fees (of course) but other than that, you literally can just show up the first day of class in your online course every semester and get going!
-
Many online programs help you enroll and then it's on you to figure out how to access courses, sometimes leaving you behind before your first assignment. Not here! Those in the MID program are provided individualized student support in all aspects of the course, as needed. We provide students direct help with troubleshooting e-book access, assistance with learning management system navigation, to one-on-one support with things such as study skills and academic advising.
-
The MID Program provides students with subject matter expert "academic" professors, and industry executive professors. This means that you'll learn not only the theory to impact distribution but also from industry instructors with over 200+ years of combined experience in the distribution industry. Don't forget this particular instructor approach is in addition to you learning from your classmates across many different industry channels and functional roles. It's like peeling back the layers of the onion from multiple viewpoints, giving you many different perspectives to consider as you apply knowledge to your business.
-
All MID students are eligible for the coveted Aggie Ring! We facilitate an opportunity to fit for your Aggie Ring at Res Week and offer you the necessary information once you've completed 75% of your degree to order it. But you aren't alone in this. Our students typically get their Aggie Ring in April of their second year. As a celebration, the MID program coordinates a group pickup and a social celebration with your classmates, family, and friends!
-
At the end of your MID experience, you present your Capstone project to classmates, colleagues, steering committee, and family. The MID program provides lodging, most meals, and event coordination for this special event. You show up ready to speak about your project and its impacts.
-
At the end of 4 semesters, you graduate with a Master of Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University. That's what your degree that will hang on the wall will say! How exciting! In celebrating all our students who have all grown close with each other and faculty and staff, the program provides each graduating student with lodging for graduation (the night before or of, depending on date/time). The program also hosts a graduation celebration banquet for your entire cohort of students, which provides you the perfect opportunity for one last hurrah with your classmates, faculty, friends, and family.

A flagship research institution like Texas A&M provides many opportunities but sometimes also presents challenges when it comes to getting solutions quickly. With the MID program, you receive dedicated student services. As an MID student, you are not required to sit on hold for hours or talk to random people about your needs whether it’s for financial aid, student business services, or veteran services. We provide one contact who can assist, coach, facilitate, and advocate for all your needs. As working professionals, quick and prompt resolution of any issues you may encounter frees up your ability to spend time focusing on work, family, or friends!
