Students are admitted from three sources:
- Entry to a Major for students who were admitted to General Engineering in the Texas A&M University College of Engineering
- Change of Curriculum for students attending Texas A&M University from outside the College of Engineering
- Transfer from colleges and universities outside of Texas A&M University
Entry to a Major Applicants

Change of Curriculum Applicants
Current Texas A&M students interested in changing majors to biomedical engineering, submit an application through the Change of Major Requests channel in Howdy.
For deadline information, refer to Rule 5 of the student rules.
To be eligible for consideration, students must complete each of the below classes with a grade of "C" or better. Effective fall 2023, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at Texas A&M University. In addition, a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the below list of classes is required. When calculating this GPA, the highest grade received in each course from any university will be used. Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, as space in the department is limited. Rather, these students will be evaluated by an undergraduate admissions committee on other aspects of the application, including but not limited to essays, achievements and activities.

Transfer Applicants
Students interested in transferring to Texas A&M from another institution must complete the Transfer application at http://goapplytexas.org by the posted university deadlines.
To be eligible for consideration, students must complete each of the below classes with a grade of "C" or better. Find these classes at your current institution. Effective fall 2023, students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.75. In addition, a minimum GPA of 3.75 in the below list of classes is required. When calculating this GPA, the highest grade received in each course from any university will be used. Meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, as space in the department is limited. Rather, these students will be evaluated by an undergraduate admissions committee on other aspects of the application, including but not limited to essays, achievements and activities.
