Appointment hours
To schedule an appointment, view available times in the Navigate website in the Howdy portal. You will have the option to select to meet in person or virtually during this process.
If you come in person for a scheduled appointment, you must check in at the front desk when you arrive.
If you have signed up for a virtual appointment, join by following the link for your advisor:
Walk-in hours
Walk-in appointments are available in person and virtually. Walk-in appointments are first come, first serve; during peak hours, please expect a wait time. Prospective biomedical engineering students are welcome.
Regular walk-in hours:
Tuesdays: 1:30-4 p.m.
Wednesdays: 1:30-4 p.m.
Note: Advising hours will be extended and may differ from the hours listed above during busy times such as add/drop week and preregistration. Changes to the open advising schedule during high-volume periods will be posted in the BMEN Undergraduate Canvas announcements.

Check above for contact advising information and Zoom links. You can make an individual appointment through Navigate in Howdy. For simple questions, email either advisor. Regular walk-in advising appointments are available on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 1:30 p.m to 4:00 p.m. All advising can be conducted either in person or virtually. Always check in at the front desk, ETB 5045.

You may submit a force request through the BMEN Force Request Form.

The BMEN advisors can provide overrides for BMEN courses. We will review all requests to determine if the justification warrants it or if it requires instructor approval. We can also request overrides for ENGR 216 or 217 with proper documentation. Please use the Override Request Form.

The advising office will register all students for BMEN 291 or 491. You must first fill out the BMEN Research Approval Form (be sure to download the form before filling it out). Once your form is complete, you can submit it through the BMEN Research Registration Request Form. If the PI is in another department, you must contact that department’s advising office for instructions.

The BMEN minor application is offered twice per year and remains open for approximately one month each cycle. Eligibility requirements and application details are available on the BMEN Minor Website. Contact a BMEN advisor if you have any questions.

Log in to the Howdy portal, search for “Apply for Graduation”, and complete the online form. The application opens the day final grades are posted for the previous semester. Apply as soon as possible so the advisors can submit any adjustments needed. You can refer to the Aggie One Stop website for additional information.

Any hours that do not fulfill a degree requirement are considered excess credit. Students who exceed the 30 hours above what is required for their degree will be charged additional tuition. Students can email excesscredit@tamu.eduto get the exact number of hours. For more information, talk to an advisor and visit the Aggie One Stop website.
